Ok, so I am here at school today. Its Good Friday and I'm at school!!! I'm a little bumbed out about that. My mom has today off.....and we were supposed to have today off....but stupid snow days took that away!
So I am cheering myself up with a Easter focused Five Question Friday!
1. What is your favorite Easter tradition?
I would probably have to say the dying of eggs! First, because it is fun and they look so pretty in the Easter Basket or hidden all over the house/yard. But more so because with a lot of hard boiled eggs comes a lot of deviled eggs! And I LOVE deviled eggs!!! Probably my favorite Easter food!
2. Are you a "shower" or a "long, hot bath" kind of person?
Shower I guess. I have taken long hot baths before and I really like them....but I just don't have time to do that very often. So I shower. I do like a long hot shower.....does that count? Having to rush through my shower routine is not fun for me....showers help me wake up in the morning....I need my shower time!
3. Can you parallel park and if so when was the last time you did it?
Nope! Not at all!!! Even if the parking spot puts me right in front of the door I need to go in! Cant do it!!! For my drivers test....I even ask the guy if I just didn't do the parallel parking part if I would still pass the test. He said Yes so I skipped it! Now that I am with Chris I don't have to worry....he has mad parallel parking skills! So if I am ever driving and need that spot, I will just have him do it! If he isn't around.....I'm just walking more!
4. What is your favorite Easter candy?
Easy! Reese's Eggs!!!! Because they are like a Reese's....but with SO MUCH MORE PEANUT BUTTER!!! Which is the best part I'd say!
5. Easter: do you go all out with the Easter Bunny or focus on the religious part of the holiday?
When my sister and I were kids I feel like we had both. We knew what Easter was all about....the religious side and all....but we also had the picture taken with the Easter Bunny and was told that he Easter Bunny was the one who brought us our candy and hid the eggs. So, I think it was a good balance.
I think when I have kids it will be the same. I want the fun magical side of Easter....bunnies and candy and egg hunts. But Ill probably talk about the religious side too.

Its been a while.....5QF
Wow! I have not posted something for a WHILE! Its been a busy time of year...but winter guard season is over now so things SHOULD slow down. Thought I would get back in the swing of things with a Five Question Friday! I am so glad it Friday....Very glad! 1. What is your favorite sign of spring? The daylight lasting longer!!!! The other night I was driving home and it was like....10 till 8 and there was still a little bit of daylight. And on my drive to school now there is a beautiful sky with the sun shining down on me! It really helps me start the day. Because I love Mr. Sun unlike my boyfriend who hates him! The sunshine makes me happy! 2. What was your best birthday ever? Hmmm.....well....my craziest birthday would have to have been my 22nd birthday! I didn't do much when I turned 21 because hardly any of my friends were 21 yet....so I did the big night out on my 22nd! FUN!!!! Other than that it is hard for me to pick my BEST birthday. I usually do have a really nice time on my birthday, so it is tough to pick just one! 3. What is your favorite dessert? ANYTHING CHOCOLATE!!!! I really am in love with the cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory.....they have some wonderful ones with LOTS of chocolate! But an old favorite dessert of mine would have to be German Chocolate Cake! 4. What is the best excuse you have ever used to get out of a ticket? I have never gotten out of a ticket!!!! And YES I am a little bitter about it. I have never seen my mom get a ticket and I have seen her get pulled over a few times. How is it that some people can always get out of them and I cant?!?! Maybe the cops in my area are less forgiving....or maybe I just suck at it. : ( 5. Do you wake up before your alarm, with your alarm, or after hitting snooze several times? Oh I LOVE my snooze button! Every night I tell myself I will get up on the first buzz....but then every morning I hit the snooze 2 or 3 times and end up having to rush around to leave on time. I really just think I need a job where I don't have to get up at 5:30 or 5:45 all the time. During winter guard season I was having to get up at 5! And that is just wrong!

5QF
I have been feeling really crappy this week....that's why I haven't had time to post anything. But, its Friday now and time for 5QF
1. Do you know what your REAL hair color is?
Yes. And I haven't dyed it for so long that it is basically back to its natural color. This medium brown color....which I find to be boring, but my friends and family tell me its pretty. They are nice I guess.
2. Do you plan ahead for summer, or fly by the seat of your pants?
Big things I plan for. Holiday stuff, if I will be going with my boyfriend or if he will be coming to my family's stuff. If there are any little trips he and I want to go on we have to plan because he has a Non-Teaching job and doesn't have the summer off. I also have to plan my guard camps and when I am going where. So, yeah! I plan a good amount.
3. What is your favorite meal to cook?
Ummm.....cook? I don't do much of that! But, my favorite thing I DO make would be my bow tie noodles with crab meat and Alfredo sauce! Yumm!!! I need to make that again soon....I love it!
4. Do you get offended by not receiving Thank Yous?
I just don't get offended in general. I enjoy and appreciate Thank Yous from time to time but they aren't required for me to know I am doing a good job or something nice.
5. How did you meet your best friend?
Oh Laurissa! I met Laurissa the fall of my freshman year of college. We were on the Pride Color Guard together. Now, we didn't become close during the fall.....because she was a flag and I was a rifle and so we weren't on the same side of the field most of the time. When we started getting close was when Winter Guard season started and we were both on Nashy together! That was a magical season. Amazing!
We now teach the Willard guard (both HS and MS) together. I cant imagine going through the week with out her. She is like another sister to me....I tell her everything and we talk all the time. I love that girl! I hope she knows how much!

A Long Week
I haven't had time to post this week....its been a busy few days. But, the questions on the 5QF this week are awesome, so I just HAD to write in!
So here we go!
5QF
1. Can you drive a stick shift?
Yes! When I first started to learn how to drive my mom taught me with her Ford Mercury Topaz, which was a 5 speed stick shift!

Even though I learned on her car they let me take my test in the Bonneville which isn't a stick! I didn't think driving my mom's car was too bad. I know it was an easier stick shift than the Rabbit my sister learned on. But it was nice to have my own car...and it be an automatic!
My dad asked me what car I wanted when I turned 16. I'm sure he was expecting some car that our family could never afford, but that really wasn't what I wanted! So, I told him...
A Pontiac Grand Am GT....silver!
Well, he did a great job finding me a car almost exactly what I wanted! A Pontiac Grand Am SE in maroon.

I will be 26 this September and I am STILL driving the car my dad got me when I turned 16. I just love my car and have no need to get a new one! That and my taxes on it this year was like $24! And NO car payments! Sounds like the perfect car to me!
2. What are 2 foods you just can't eat?
I'm going to have to agree with my sister and say sauerkraut for the first one! Just the smell of it is disgusting! And the slimy, drippy, yuckyness of it! EWWW!!!
The second thing I just cant eat is anything mixed with Banana! I like bananas but why do we have to mix them with every other flavor? It just ruins what could be a good Strawberry yogurt by mixing banana with it. And it seems like so many things have banana added to it! Yuck!
3. Do you buy Girl Scout Cookies? What is your favorite kind?
Oh My Gosh Yes!!!!! I LOVE Girl Scout Cookies! I am pretty sure I could live off of them!
I have 2 favorites!
Carmel Delights which used to be called Samoas

And Thin Mint!

4. How do you pamper yourself?
There are a few things I like to do to pamper myself. One would be Big Naps on the weekends! I love sleep so a good nap is like heaven to me!
Another thing I am really starting to like more and more is getting a massage at the place called Salon Ami Day Spa in KC. When I go up to see Chris and he is going to be busy for a few hours....I make an appointment for an hour massage and it is amazing!
The last thing I like to do, which I haven't gotten to do for a WHILE, is getting a pedicure! At first I didn't think I would like someone touching my feet, but now I LOVE it. It is so relaxing and my toes look so cute afterwards.
5. What is your nickname and how did you get it?
Well, I don't really have a nickname that everyone calls me like my big sis does. But when I was little my dad had a couple nicknames for me and when I was in college my first room mate had a nickname for me.
My dad and I use to watch Ron's Big Ol' Fish when I was little. Around the time I started taking swimming lessons he started calling me Son (with an "on" sound) Fish. When I was in High School he would call me DK after the Cardinals Pitcher Darryl Kile who I LOVED.
In college my first room mate would call me Sonj.....with an emphasis on the J! I'm not sure why, but I didn't mind it.
So here we go!

5QF
I actually had my 4th and 5th hour classes do 5QF today since we have a half day and they are only in my classroom for like...20 something minutes.
This week has been a bit up and down! An exciting thing would be seeing my Sister blogging again! I was fun to read her posts....she is such a good writer!
Well, here it goes...
1. Have you worn the same outfit more than one day in a row?
Oh YES!!! The week we had 4 days off of school because of snow I wore the same sweat pants and sweat shirt for at least 3 of those 4 days. I only changed when Laurissa came by and took me out to the mall.
2. If you had to choose any LARGE city to live in, which would it be?
Well, I haven't really visited very many LARGE cities to know if I would want to live in them. But when I was at Seattle I really REALLY liked it and thought to myself that I would be ok living there!
Also, when my mom and I went to South Carolina we really liked it there...I cant remember what city we were in, but whatever BIG city is in that area I wouldn't mind living there.
3. Fly or drive with the kids on vacation?
Depends on the distance. If it isn't more than like a 4 or 5 hours...probably 6 at the max...I wouldn't mind driving. I think car rides can kinda be part of the vacation. Some of the greatest conversations happen in a car.
If it is longer than 6 hours I want to fly....because then you are just cutting into an entire day of the vacation. Also, I think flying is really fun. When Chris and I went to Seattle it was only the 2nd or 3rd time I had been on a plane, but it was a fun time.
4. What is your idea of "spring cleaning"?
"Spring Cleaning" for me is usually going through my closet and dresser drawers, reorganizing it, and donating or throwing away the clothes I don't wear anymore. I also like going through all my cleaning supplies, reorganizing them, and throw out any bottles that are almost empty or I simply never use.
Some times I even like to rearrange my bedroom and/or living room. Moving the furniture around just makes it feel like a new space.
Another thing would be changing color. Maybe getting a new bed spread for my room or pillows/blankets for the living room. Changing the colors to something light and fun makes it feel more like spring and summer is here.
5. What is the best book you have ever read?
I don't read....so that makes this question hard. I actually think I have NEVER finished a book in my life. Even when I was in high school...having to read it for class....I could never get through a book and I NEVER found it to be enjoyable.

Really? Me?
So, this morning during 2nd hour I was asked to have a Practicum student. They said since Darin and Marcella both have student teachers they would just have to practicum student observe my class room.
Really???
Me???
A second year teacher???
Guess I will be having someone watch my class from time to time. I hope I set a good example.
Speaking of my classes....I feel like today I am FINALLY getting back in the swing of things. With the almost complete week off...then another day off...then a late start...last week and the week before were a mess for me. My inner clock was all over the place! But, I feel better now and maybe THAT will help the frustrations I have been dealing with.
Lastly, I finally made a dentist appointment down here in Willard. I have a tooth that has been bothering me and I just have to get it fixed! I am super nervous...I have gone to the same dentist since, well, forever! But it has to happen!
Wish me luck!!!

Going to lose it!!!
As I sit at my desk.....I am about to bust out into tears. It has been a struggle to hold them in all day. Not tears of sadness, but tears of complete frustration. I am so close to my breaking point...I don't know what to do.
I am so incredibly frustrated and annoyed with my students right now! They have no ability to follow directions. They don't want to do their work...they want me to do it for them. I am constantly having to repeat myself...and repeat myself...and repeat myself. Then someone will ask a question that is EXACTLY what I had just said....3 TIMES....and I have to go over it again.
What is going on??? I am seriously about to lose it! I don't know what to do.....and if I have to keep doing this, there is NO WAY I will make it 30 years!
I am really upset right now.....
